Special Events

Besides classes offered throughout Georgia and the Alabama, from time to time KMC Georgia also offers special events such as mountain retreats. You can keep current on special events on our home page, on Facebook.

In additional to these special events in and around Georgia, Kadampa Buddhist Tradition also hosts several national and international celebrations and festivals…

  • Regional Dharma Celebrations

There are also regional Dharma Celebrations given by the National Spiritual Directors. In regional Dharma Celebrations, several Dharma Centers in a specific geographic region of the country join forces to celebrate Dharma through Dharma teaching, guidance in meditation, and fellowship amongst the region’s dharma practitioners.

  • U.S. Festival

National Kadampa Festivals are arranged each year in various countries. These Festivals are taught by the Spiritual Director and Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition. They are a wonderful opportunity for people to get together with fellow practitioners in their country to listen to teachings, practice meditation, and engage in discussion.

  • International Festivals

The highlights of the year for Kadampa Buddhists are the annual International Festivals with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, which provide an opportunity to receive teachings and empowerments directly from our Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union. There are three international festivals hosted around the world.
