Drop in to a class
Classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. Everyone is welcome. During the classes the teacher will explain how to meditate and will give practical instructions on how to use meditation to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life. Most classes run for an hour and a half. We meditate sitting on chairs to ensure that everyone is comfortable. There is no physical exercise or special clothing is involved.
The general structure of the class:
- Short Buddhist prayers to prepare for meditation
- Simple guided meditation
- Teaching on how to solve problems in daily life
- Another meditation or questions & answers
- Brief prayers to complete the session
After the class everyone is welcome to stay for light refreshments.
When can I start?
You can start anytime. The classes are organized as short courses, usually 3, 4 or 5 weeks long. Check the calendar for dates. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can as each class is self-contained, or you can just come along to try a session. There are many classes and discussion groups taking place all over Metro-Atlanta and the Southeast at various bookstores and cafes. All of these classes are open to everyone, drop-in at any time. You do not need to be a Buddhist to attend them, or to derive great benefit from them.
You do not need to pre-register, simply find a class near you and pay when you arrive. If you would like more information or help, please contact us. We look forward to seeing you soon.
