There are three international NKT festivals held each year. Our global community comes together to experience Buddha, Dharma & Sangha in a profound and personal way. Empowerments, teachings, and retreats are guided by the General and Deputy Spiritual Directors of the NKT as well as senior teachers in the tradition.

These festivals benefit the International Temples Project which carry out Geshe Kelsang’s vision of having a Kadampa Temple in every city and spreading inner peace worldwide.

The Heart of Universal Compassion Empowerment and Commentary to the Practice of Thousand-armed Buddha Avalokiteshvara with Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang.

Kadam Lamrim & Highest Yoga Tantra Empowerment

Week 1 July 26 – Aug 1 – Kadam Lamrim, the Foundation with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong

Week 2 Aug 2 – 10 – Highest Yoga Tantra, the Quick Path with Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang
Empowerments and commentary to the Highest Yoga Tantra practices of Heruka Body Mandala and Vajrayogini, the special, blessed quick path to enlightenment of the New Kadampa Tradition.

Fall Festival Oct 25-31 at Cascais, Portugal

Empowerment of Buddha Prajnaparamita, oral transmission of the Heart Surta from the New Heart of Wisdom and the grand opening of the new Kadampa Temple

These celebrations are like mini-festivals that bring local sangha together to receive an empowerment and teachings and connect with old and new friends in your region.
Gen Kelsang Jampa is the elected National Spiritual Director of the US and Resident Teacher at KMC Texas. He will grant the empowerments and give teachings at all US Dharma Celebrations.

Join us for a night of family fun! Pizza, popcorn and a chance to view the NKT movie “The Life of Buddha”. Follow the story of how Buddhism began through the life of Siddhartha. Filmed from the annual play put on every year at Summer Festival in England – see if you recognize anyone!

Mala Making Workshop

Malas or prayer beads are used when reciting mantras and in other Buddhist practices. Learn how to make them and the symbolism behind malas according to the NKT lineage.
If you have special beads of your own you would like to use please bring them. Malas typically have 108 beads plus one large guru bead
