Cooling our Anger | Half Day Meditation Retreat
Saturday, July 20th | 10:00a.m. - 1:00p.m.
Anger is our worst enemy. It makes us do irrational things and lose our self-control and common sense. It causes physical and emotional pain and destroys our reputation.
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso says that of all of our negative states of mind, anger is the most harmful, yet so much of our modern society honors and even encourages it.
This summer, learn methods to cool off from this hurtful mental habit. In this half-day retreat, we will explain Buddha’s scientific techniques for deflecting, defusing and disposing of our anger and responding more effectively to the anger of others. This is a rare opportunity to learn the middle way of avoiding the harmful effects of our own and others’ anger.
Everyone is welcome! No experience necessary.
You are invited to arrive a few minutes before the retreat starts to check-in, relax and have a cup of tea or coffee. We have a book shop and gift shop to browse. Some attendees find it is helpful to bring a pen and notebook if you wish to take notes. There is secure and ample parking. After the class, there are refreshments and an opportunity to ask questions informally.
Session times:
Session #1 - 10:00a.m. - 11:15a.m.
Session #2 - 11:45 a.m.- 1:00p.m.
