Purify Your Karma : Vajrasattva Retreat
With Resident Teacher, Kelsang Dechok
Friday, November 15 – Sunday, November 17
Vajrasattva is the Buddha of purification. When we develop a basic understanding of the laws of karma, we begin to avoid negative actions and naturally wish to remove the seeds of sufferings in our own mind planted by past negative actions. During this retreat we will have the opportunity to purify our negativity by engaging in the purification practices of Buddha Vajrasattva.
Through this practice we can remove the inner causes of our problems and sufferings, and create the cause for peace and happiness.
The Friday night talk will provide an introduction to the weekend. The first two sessions on Saturday will include short teachings and guided meditations to enable a deeper and more focused experience of this special practice. These sessions are guided by our Resident Teacher, American Buddhist nun, Kelsang Dechok.
This retreat will follow a traditional format which includes chanted prayers from The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land and Meditation and Recitation of Solitary Vajrasattva, plus silent periods for meditation. We will also observe silence on Saturday morning.
Everyone is welcome!
“The meditation and recitation practice of Vajrasattva is the method by which we can purify our negativities.” —Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
